Constance Bear

I have had a bear sitting on my work table for some time now. In between the busyness of getting the kids ready to go back to school I would fiddle with her. A few moments here and there of work slowly added up. Constance Bear soon began taking shape, I called her Constance, because her patience was constant, and she constantly blessed my table with her glances, whispering at times an urgency to have her limbs completed, her hat trimmed and her dress stitched.

Finally this weekend I managed to finish her, a blessed relief for her and me.

Constance bear is a true vintage girl. Her hat is finished with antique tulle and vintage millinery flowers, velvet forget me nots, a carnation and little white snow-bells... oh and a very special antique silk ribbon flower. Her skirt is a remnant of a Edwardian dress and her little ribbon sash is finished with an very tiny antique MOP buckle.
